Chantilly, Va.-based First Line Technology has contracted with Middleboro, Mass.-based Louis M. Gerson Co. to deliver Gerson's N95, N99 and N100 respirators to governments that can use the respirators during emergency events, specifically H1N1, avian influenza and pandemic influenza preparedness. Recently, the companies were awarded a multiple-award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Health Affairs to supply respirators for the DHS Pandemic Stockpile.

“The Gerson line of particulate respirators will help First Line meet the demand of our government customers with products proudly made in the USA,” said First Line Vice President Randy Sakowitz. “This supply of respirators will support the government's stockpiling of all hazards equipment caches to create safe working environments and enable government workers to continue operations during a pandemic.”

First Line's Disaster Preparedness and Response division develops and distributes equipment to aid in evacuation, sheltering and pandemic operations. The line of Gerson respirators will help First Line to better prepare and equip the government and first responders to safely carry out their duties, according to both companies. “This recent DHS contract award provides Louis M. Gerson Co. and First Line Technology an opportunity to showcase our domestic manufacturing and supply chain management expertise,” said Ron Gerson, president of Louis M. Gerson Co.
