The 7000 and 8000 series online video appliances deliver both standard and high definition video. The H.264-based appliances will initially consist of two appliances: standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD). The products will be available as blades for the company's MicroTCA high density shelf, which will be available in the first quarter of 2010. All versions feature low delay encoding, multicasting, remote management and enhanced quality for any given bandwidth. SD is targeted for agency communications, training, process monitoring and military exercises, and has bit rates of less than 1.5 Mb/sec. Many resolutions are available, up to a full D1. HD is for television distribution over an organization's network, digital signage, military training, healthcare and other types of high-resolution video applications, and offers high definition video delivery at 1 Mb/sec and up, and multiple HD connections for inputs.
