The ION instant communications system is a self-contained field kit that enables rapid deployment of complete converged communications via satellite for emergency response teams and remote operations such as oil rigs, mines or construction sites. The system can be carried and deployed by one or two people and can be checked as luggage aboard commercial airlines; it also can be integrated into a mobile command vehicle. Once on site, the package offers direct connection for up to six lines to the public switched telephone network, broadband Internet access and support for two-way video conferencing or surveillance.
