NFX Managed-Memory Tokens store 128 megabytes to 1 gigabyte of data that users can access on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems and PCs. Because the software, electrical and mechanical interfaces on the device are controlled by its manufacturer, it does not need to be updated or re-qualified. The Token features both an SPI interface, for use with OEM microprocessors, and a USB interface, for use with PCs. To prevent data spillage and corruption associated with USB flash drives without compromising the convenience they provide, the Token substitutes a specialized Receptacle (supplied by the manufacturer) that is recognized as a removable disk drive but does not use the standard USB connector.
