The Road Kop speed cushion is designed to slow traffic while having a minimal impact on emergency response time. Road Kop preformed modules are linked together with metal dowels to form a solid cushion. The cushion then is bolted to the pavement using anchors, stainless steel lag bolts and stainless steel washers. No road closure is required for installation, and the cushion is removed and reinstalled easily for paving or relocating. The cushion provides better drainage than traditional humps and is safer for bicycles and motorcycles, according to the manufacturer.
