With MicroTally aluminum counter, worker can
manually count the flow and turning movements of cars, trucks,
bicycles, and pedestrians, generally as they travel through an
intersection. Intuitive layout of buttons mirrors 12 possible
traffic routes through intersection. In addition, counters A and B
buttons act like shift keys on a computer keyboard, providing user
with up to 36 counting classifications. For instance, pressing the
south directional button could represent a car traveling south,
while pushing the A button followed by the south button might
signify a truck traveling south. User can assign names to each
button by using companion Windows-based WinTally software, which
can be downloaded from companys Web site and updated automatically
from users computer. The name of each Microtally button then
correlates with a screen of drop-down menus for arranging collected
information into tables. User can organize traffic analysis
according to desired criteria, such as the time when most trucks
traveled south through an intersection. Software also provides
hourly sub-totals of traffic counts, as well as peak traffic hours.
User can print tables for subsequent evaluation, or export
information into formats for database and spreadsheet applications.
