The LEDs in the signs adjust to ambient light levels automatically, and can be seen from up to two miles at night. The solar traffic signs, which are FHWA/MUTCD-compliant, can be programmed to flash in sequence or in unison. The system communicates wirelessly, so the signs can be activated by vehicles approaching the curve too fast.
