The Eagle Eye obstacle-detection system is designed to increase drivers' awareness of all potentially dangerous areas surrounding the vehicle. The system monitors side and rear “blind areas” or “no zones” for vehicles or objects. The dash-mounted digital display visually and audibly alerts drivers to potential contact beginning at 8 to 10 feet away from the vehicle. Designed for harsh use, the system consists of up to seven weather-resistant mounted sensors around the truck and a single driver alert module inside the cab. The system can reduce the number of accidents at highway/street/bridge construction sites by 75 percent, according to the company.
