Built-in stairway for platform trailers provides safer exit from and entrance to flatbed deck. When open, the deck lid locks securely in upright position via double rods that slide into two specially designed receivers. One handrail is located under the lid, providing a 45° vertical handhold above deck height. Second handrail is built next to the steps. In down position, the deck lid latches securely to prevent bouncing during transit. Steps are made of pooch-punched aluminum for drainage and a skid-resistant surface.
