The SB18 LT hammer drill/driver measures 813/16 inches long, so it can fit into tight spaces. The cordless tool can fit into even smaller spaces by removing the chuck to drive screws with the ¼-inch hexagon recessed spindle using an accessory bit retainer. A built-in LED light supplies visibility for dark spaces. The tool weighs 5.3 pounds and runs on a Li-Power Plus 18-volt, 2.6 Ah battery. The tool charges 30 percent faster through guided air flow ducting that cools the battery pack during charging. The hammer tool offers a no-load speed of zero to 400 revolutions per minute in first gear and zero to 1,400 revolutions per minute in second gear. It comes equipped with a dual-range torque adjustment to set the torque to either 13 inch-pounds through 31 inch-pounds, or 31 inch-pounds through 114 inch-pounds. The tool also features an aluminum die cast gear housing. It can operate continuously with up to 239 inch-pounds of torque (soft case) and, in the event of extreme resistance, up to 549 inch-pounds of torque for momentary maximum spikes (hard case). Equipped with a ½-inch chuck, the hammer drill has a drilling capacity of ½ inch in steel, 13/16 inches in wood and ⅜ inch in concrete. The tool offers a maximum of 28,000 impacts per minute in hammer drill mode.
