Tensotherm with Nanogel is a translucent fabric membrane roofing system with insulative values. Tensotherm consists of Nanogel aerogel sandwiched between two layers of structural PTFE fiberglass membrane to create an insulated, energy-efficient inner layer that maintains translucency and promotes natural daylighting. The fabric is less than 50 millimeters thick and has a thermal insulation performance value of R-12 and natural light transmission value of 3.5 percent. The roofing system meets energy and building code regulations. Projects incorporating Tensotherm into their architectural design can be awarded credits for LEED certification in the categories of insulation, green materials, innovation and daylighting.
