The EW230C features a large platform to provide stability when performing tasks that require heavy lifting and hard digging. For road travel between sites, the rear axle and standard counterweight weigh under 12 tons combined (a heavier counterweight is available for applications that do not require the excavator to be mobile). Powered by a 167-horsepower Volvo D6E EHE3 diesel engine, the EW230C features a two-pump load-sensing hydraulic system, an increased-capacity cooling module and 10-15 percent greater digging force than the previous model, EW210C.
