Porous pavement system

The Geopave system is designed for vehicular and pedestrian traffic in parking lots, utility access lanes and walking trails. Its porous nature permits stormwater drainage and reduces the heat-island effect associated with traditional pavements. The system features a base layer of interconnected cells made of recycled polyethylene that is filled with aggregate (or an aggregate/topsoil combination for less-frequented areas). The mesh bottom of the cells promotes even load distribution and prevents material from falling through over time, retaining the paved surface and reducing the necessary installation depth. Systems are available in three patterns (herringbone, offset and bricklayer), and sections can be connected as needed to address specific area configurations. Geopave can help users comply with stormwater regulations and can contribute to U.S. Green Building LEED credits.
