Two new metal-to-earth wear electrodes, SelectWear 60HC and SelectWear 60PW, are designed for use in hot-wear applications up to 1,100 F. Both products deposit chromium carbides. The 60HC stress-relieves itself by cross cracking, while the 60PW's slightly higher chromium carbide density endows it with a higher hardness. The 60HC is utilized for applications such as wear plates, clad pipe and dredge pump shells; the 60PW for single- and double-pass overlay welding used to make plates.
