Undercarriage reduces material buildup, minimizes need for cleaning

C-series multiterrain loaders feature a
new undercarriage with tapered roller bearings and heavy-duty metal
face seals on idlers and bogies to ensure long life. The
18-in.-wide rubber tracks feature three rows of lugs, which create
a larger area for the track to engage with the guide system.
Additional row of lugs enhances guiding when working on side
slopes. Open design of undercarriage reduces material buildup
during operation, minimizes need for cleaning and makes cleaning
easier when it is necessary. Track removal is not necessary when
replacing most undercarriage components. The 277C, 287C and 297C
each offer a choice of single- or dual-level undercarriage
suspension. A two-speed option is available for fast movement
around large sites. The 3.3-L Cat 3044C DIT engine powers all three
models. Caterpillar Inc.
