Both the Volvo EC35C and the ECR48C (shown in picture) are suited for tight, congested or busy worksites. A Volvo D2.2D diesel engine powers both machines and delivers 36.3 horsepower. A standard auto-idling system on both models lowers engine speed to idle if the operator does not use the controls for five seconds. That reduces fuel consumption, generates less noise and lengthens engine life, according to the manufacturer. Model ECR48C has a short radius superstructure that turns inside the width of its tracks, while Model EC35C has a cast steel X-frame undercarriage for sturdy operation and improved load distribution.
