T-48 polysulfide epoxy resin-based overlay rehabilitates aging surfaces. It resists the effects of UV degradation, while the slurry application method allows for easy installation with limited traffic disruption, according to the company. The ⅜-inch thick waterproof overlay adds minimal dead load to bridges (3 to 4 pounds per square foot), while the broadcast aggregate surface will maintain high skid resistance for many years. The reduction of permeability means less rust and spalling. The product applies quickly; a recent bridge project in Tennessee took 12 hours to complete.
