The Single Point Monitor (SPM) serves a variety of industries and applications, including wastewater treatment and lab analysis. The unit has been used by EPA as a portable perimeter-monitoring device to detect hydrogen sulfide at landfill projects. The SPM employs Chemcassette colorimetric gas-detection technology, which uses a chemically impregnated tape highly specific to one of 32 different gases to provide early warning of toxic gases. Chemcassette technology can measure gas concentration up to parts per billion or parts per trillion levels. The technology shows a change in color or stain on the paper if the target gas is present.
