The Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle will be available to law enforcement departments across North America in early 2011. It is a full-size, rear-drive sedan that will be available with specialized equipment. The car has features specifically for police duty. The 6.0-liter V-8 engine has fuel-saving Active Fuel Management technology and E85 capability, and delivers 0-60 acceleration (below six seconds) and top speed. A V-6 engine will be offered beginning in the 2012 model year. The sedan features two trunk-mounted batteries, with one of them dedicated to powering various police equipment.
