Police officers and other users can equip vehicles with the Digital Eyewitness G3 to record events in their surroundings. The G3 can be controlled from either the digital video recorder or a mobile data computer; the latter allows for DVR mounting anywhere in the vehicle, thus freeing up space in the passenger area. An optional mirror monitor (replacing the factory-installed rearview mirror), for use with the DVR, allows users to view the scene as it is recorded.
