The ultrabright LED Incapacitator works by pulsing red, green and blue LEDs in the right level, frequency and duration to temporarily overwhelm an attacker through blindness, nausea and disorientation. Allows authorities enough time to subdue and restrain while sparing innocent passersby, hostages or airline passengers. Further testing begins this fall and production should begin in December. Applications will include police, border agents, National Guard and military. Intelligent Optical Systems Inc., Torrance, Calif.
