Either a 37.8-horsepower diesel or a 35-horsepower gasoline engine can power the SC372 stump cutter. The cutter measures 35 inches wide (without duals), allowing it to navigate through gates and to operate in confined spaces. An optional AutoSweep system monitors engine speed and automatically adjusts the cutter wheel sweep rate to reduce premature wear. The cutter features dual gearboxes in place of lower drive belts, an oscillating front steering axle and two-wheel- and all-wheel-drive configurations. Other features include a chip containment system and an optional chip blade. An operator presence system monitors the operator's touch and maintains cutter wheel engagement. When the operator's hands leave the control levers, an automatic disengage and braking sequence stops the cutter wheel in less than nine seconds.
