A diesel-fueled engine, belt-driven Schulz air compressor and a vortex combustion system help Next Generation Power's generator-compressor consume less fuel and operate with fewer maintenance problems, according to the manufacturer. The 42-inch-long generator-compressor weighs 375 pounds, saving space when compared to larger, heavier models. Its engine operates at 2,800 rpm to minimize noise and wear. The generator-compressor uses less than 0.25 gallons of fuel to produce 5.5 kilowatts of electrical power. Other features include a remote start/stop panel and oil pressure and water temperature shutdowns.
