Did you know that the creation of counterfeit
currency is on the rise and increasingly difficult to detect?
Worldwide scams range from Super K counterfeit bills initiated by
North Korea during the 1990s to todays Super X currency circulated
by Latin American countries. One man, Yoshihide Matsumura, chief
executive officer of Matsumura Technology, based in Japan, recently
decided to beat counterfeiters at their game. He developed a
currency detector that checks more than 76 DNA attributes of
currency to validate authenticity. Now offered by the U.S. branch
of Matsumura Technology, located in Weston, FL, Model EXC-5700A
counterfeit detector takes about 0.7 second to reveal whether
currency is authentic. Using a series of infrared rays, lasers,
magnetism, and other sophisticated tech-nology, the detector tests
U.S. currency ranging from $1 to $100 bills. Said to be 99.999%
accurate, the detector displays results on built-in LCD readout.
Customers receive up to seven years of product support, which
includes updates to keep one step ahead of counterfeiters. The
counterfeit detector can serve a variety of agencies, including the
U.S. Secret Service, law-enforcement authorities, and the Federal
Reserve Bank.
