Subaru's line of conventional generators includes the RGX2900 that features the manufacturer's EX Series overhead cam engine, which provides a maximum output of 2,900 watts. The RGV6100 model relies on the EH Series overhead-valve engine, which provides a maximum output of 5,800 watts. Both units boast a high surge capacity, taking on up to 150 percent of the rated power for as long as 20 seconds. An automatic idle control, standard on the RGV6100, helps reduce fuel consumption.
