The model 335 uses a hybrid electric power system with an electric motor that assists the PX-6 engine with supplemental torque for up to 40 percent fuel economy gains. The system stores energy during stopping through regenerative braking and then reuses it for acceleration. The tractor also features an in-dash 7-inch display providing full diagnostic capabilities for the hybrid system, including system operating status. The manufacturer also offers the model 330, which is available with a 26,000-pound GVW rating, and can be configured for non-CDL operation with hydraulic brakes. Launching the vehicle electrically in an urban driving cycle can achieve fuel economy benefits in excess of 30 percent, according to the manufacturer.
