Fleet Management Systems' electronic fleet tracking system with MLT-400i module combines satellite tracking with Web-based software. Each fleet vehicle is outfitted with a GPS, which transmits user-selected data, including location, direction and speed, to dispatch centers with access to the FMS Fleet Central Web server. The satellite service provider, Iridium, uses low-latency, two-way short-burst data links to maintain connection to vehicles regardless of location (even in remote areas out of cellular network range).
