Polyurethane protective tapes and boots shield leading edge structures on aircraft from erosion and abrasion damage. They are constructed with a puncture-resistant thermoplastic elastomer and an acrylic adhesive, and conform to the curvatures of the aircraft. The self-adhesive tapes and boots do not contain hazardous chemicals and come in a variety of forms, colors and thicknesses. More than 500 custom boot forms are available for radomes, navigation lenses and antennas, among others. The tapes can serve as a moisture barrier for lavs and galleys, and provide leading edge or belly protection.
