SafeDrive MiniDVR mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) uses both a forward-facing camera and a rear-facing cabin camera to record video, audio and metadata to compact flash cards. The system's recording mechanism is triggered automatically in the event of a crash, while speeding, or during erratic driving. It is suited for transit agencies; school bus fleets; police, fire and emergency crews; and other government fleets. The unit adapts to any vehicle and installs directly to a windshield; it leaves the driver's view unobstructed. The system requires no modification of the dashboard or console.
