To protect cabinet-housed fire extinguishers, the STI Mini Theft Stopper is installed inside or next to the cabinet door, with its reed switch unit mounted on the doorjamb. If the cabinet is opened, the matching magnet mounted on the door sounds a 105-decibel warning horn for three minutes or until deactivation. Other firefighting equipment can be guarded with an accompanying steel clip, which is placed underneath an object to trigger the alarm once the object is lifted. Freestanding extinguisher pull pins can be routed through the holes in the clip's prongs, triggering the alarm when the seal is broken. The Mini Stopper comes with a 9-volt battery and mounting equipment, and is guaranteed for one year against housing and component breakage. The unit also can be used to safeguard ammunition, chemicals, office equipment and other products.
