The thermally enhanced roof hatch is fabricated from corrosion-resistant aluminum that is milled primarily from recycled content, and features a 2-inch polyisocyanurate thermal insulation board with an R-value of 12. A specially engineered EPDM finger-type gasket ensures a positive seal between the cover and curb, while a heavy-duty slam latch secures the cover in the closed position. Fully enclosed compression springs counter-balance the cover for smooth and controlled operation regardless of size or weight, and a hold-open arm automatically locks the cover in the open position. The roof hatch is equipped with cap flashing and the Bil-Clip flashing system for quick and easy installation on single-ply roofs, according to the company.
