The 21W splitter can be used in a security or access control system in a government building, allowing the facilities team to take advantage of the power already running to the security system via the Ethernet cable to power some other necessary device in the electrical system. The unit has outputs of 10W over PoE to a powered device, such as an IP Camera, and 12W DC to an accessory device, including heaters and illuminators. The device, which is called the POE21-120H, takes power from an IEEE802.3at-compliant midspan for use with low-power IP cameras and adjacent security and access-control equipment.
