Silicone rubber boots can be installed in place of the mounting nut on switches to guard against precipitation, dust, oil and other contaminants. By preventing exposure to the elements, the boots help prevent switch corrosion and reduce the rate of failure and replacement. The waterproof, lightweight boots can withstand temperatures ranging from -160 to 500 F, and are available for toggle, push-button and rotary switches used in applications like marine, welding or medical equipment and car batteries, as well as solar panels and wind turbines.
