The 3M Scotchmate reclosable fastener SJ3000 is a thin, back-to-back attachment system. The system is coated on one side with tiny, translucent polypropylene hooks that engage with soft, pliable polyester loops on the reverse side that allow users to wrap, unwrap and rewrap items up to 10 times. The polypropylene/polyester construction is gentle on finished surfaces and more reliable than rubber bands or strings, according to 3M. The SJ3000 also eliminates adhesive residue and waste, knotted strings, plastic wire and strapping. Sample applications include bundling spindles, cabinet doors, PVC pipe and electrical conduit.
