Crown Equipment’s RC 5500 Series Stand-Up Counterbalanced model earned one of 37 gold IDEA awards for 2008, out of more than 1,500 entries. Jurors from the Industrial Designers Society of America selected the winning IDEA entries.

According to New Bremen, Ohio-based Crown, the lift truck’s design enables wide versatility in a variety of applications. The RC 5500 model can be used in various spots in a facility, including loading and unloading trailers, transporting and staging products throughout the warehouse, and storing product in racks.

The model has a large, flexible operator compartment for improved visibility and operator comfort, as well as FlexRide suspension, according to the company.
