Business of all sizes that want to do work with or provide services to the State of Washington utilize the nation's "gold standard" in IT procurement systems, according to the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO).

NASPO recently named the state the winner of the 2005 Cronin Information Technology Gold Award for the Washington Department of General Administration and its Washington's Electronic Business Solution (WEBS) system. WEBS is a statewide enterprise deployment of NovusVENDOR, a product of Novusolutions.

"WEBS eliminates the need for vendors and buyers to navigate numerous and different registration and notification systems throughout state and local government," says Kerry Bustetter, a spokesperson for the Department of General Administration. "Since the system began operation in September 2004, more than 8,700 vendors have signed up to use the system. About 350 additional businesses register each month."

It's estimated WEBS will be adopted by more than 200 government organizations and 50,000 vendors will register. The system is capable of supporting more than 1,000 unique bidding opportunities per month and 10,000 documents downloaded per month.
