Elgin Sweeper has redesigned its three-wheeled Pelican model broom sweeper to operate using compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas or propane. Traditional features, such as a 10-foot sweeping path and No-Jam debris conveyor, remain unchanged; with the use of liquefied natural gas, the sweeper's Cummins B5.9-195G engine produces about 10 percent of the emissions left behind by gasoline or diesel-powered engines.
