AccuWeather.com (www.accuweather.com) announced that it has launched a Web site which will serve as a new planning tool for directors and engineers of public works, and others involved in public safety. AccuWeather.com Business (business.accuweather.com) streamlines planning by featuring all weather information relevant to operations on one page for instant and easy access.

The site will provide customizable weather alarms, summary forecasts, historical comparisons, comprehensive graphs and detailed forecasts for 43,000 locations nationwide. Users will be able to customize key features on the site to better serve their individual preferences for specific weather information that affects public safety, staffing, materials, productivity, snow removal, and other severe weather preparation.

Designed to simplify the workload of an operational manager, the site allows user to customize alarms which will warn of unusual or extreme weather. Summaries, backed by in-depth details, create an instant picture of the weather out to 15 days. Automatic historical comparisons displayed in colorful, three-dimensional graphs offer additional time savings.

With a quick glance, users will be able to compare the effect of weather on operational issues such as staffing, salt and snow removal needs, etc., based on the same time period from previous years. With this access to comparative weather information, operational planning will be simplified.

Additionally, users will be able to access the latest forecasts nationwide. Users can preset numerous locations on the site for immediate access to all features.

"This site offers relevant weather information, all on one page and all at a touch of the fingertips, to help key decision makers reduce the challenges and costs of working in public services so greatly affected by the weather," says Jim Candor, Senior Vice President of New Media.
