Carrollton, Texas-based Samsung/GVI Security has increased its score from 6.9 to 7.1 in the Washington-based Greenpeace International's “Guide to Greener Electronics” by “committing to reduce its absolute emissions of greenhouse gases, despite growth in the company's sales,” according to the guide. “Not only is environmental protection practicing good corporate stewardship, but more and more, customers are requiring it,” said GVI CEO Steve Walin in a statement. “Therefore, we use recycled paper on all of our business cards, catalogs, brochures, packaging and other paper goods used in production. Since Samsung Electronics already complies to [the European Union's] Restriction on Hazardous Substances directives in production, a growing consideration of more and more companies in the Americas, we can assure our customers that our solutions already meet such standards.”
