Truck maker surpasses truck-assembly milestone

Peterbilt Motors celebrated a major milestone at the company's Denton, Texas, manufacturing facility with the completion of its 300,000th production truck. Delivery of the Model 387 aerodynamic truck to Witte Brothers Exchange was done at the Denton, Texas, plant while Peterbilt employees, local government officials and the media looked on.
"Peterbilt is proud to celebrate this important milestone with Witte Brothers Exchange, as both of our companies share an unwavering commitment to the transportation industry, our employees and a superior product," said Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president. "The 300,000th truck produced, a Peterbilt Model 387, signifies the attributes of Peterbilt past, present and future through its fuel-efficient design."
In August 1980, Peterbilt Denton's first truck rolled off the assembly line. Today, all seven of the company's heavy-duty truck models are manufactured at the facility.
Peterbilt Motors, a division of Paccar, manufactures trucks for a range of markets, including municipal, over-the-road, construction and medium-duty.
