The MICO 520 series of hydraulic apply caliper disc brakes is designed for heavy public works vehicles, such as street sweepers, utility trucks, tree trimmers and waste pickup units. It can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, and requires a modulated hydraulic pressure source, such as a master cylinder. The brakes provide continuous duty pressure of 1,000 psi and intermittent duty pressure of 1,500 psi. Each brake weighs approximately 17 pounds and requires a minimum disc diameter of 15 inches. The total lining contact area is 12.4 square inches, and worn linings can be replaced without disassembling or removing the brake.
