The U.S. Department of State has awarded a $14 million maintenance contract to Bowie, Md.-based Crockett Facilities Services, Inc. (CFSI). Under the five-year agreement, Crockett will provide facilities management, operations and maintenance services to two commercial buildings located in Washington. The contract is scheduled to start on Sept. 1, 2011.

In the agreement, CFSI’s scope of work will include on-site project management, equipment operations, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment watches/tours/repairs, service calls, architectural/structural systems, building alterations and building escort services. CFSI will be responsible for the operations of the buildings’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, domestic water equipment systems, electrical distribution equipment, sanitary sewage, storm drainage and utilities.

“It is rewarding to be selected for this contract based on providing ‘best value’ to the government,” said Mark Crockett, vice president of CFSI. “We appreciate the opportunity to further our 10-year relationship with the U.S. Department of State, ensuring their mission-critical facilities are operating smoothly, safely and efficiently, with comfortable work environments.”

As part of the competitive bid process, CFSI’s request for proposal included administrative, financial and technical components. The document contained financial data, safety records, key personnel resumes, organizational charts, operations and management plans, and past performance references.

Founded in 2000, CFSI is an 8(a) woman-owned, Small Disadvantaged Business, MDOT MBE contractor. The company delivers facilities operations and maintenance, mechanical contracting and HVAC services to federal, state and commercial clients. It services more than 11 million square feet of commercial buildings in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Florida and Georgia.
