The eighth annual event, which will be held June 24-26 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, will include: interactive and informative plenary sessions featuring dynamic speakers; more than 40 educational sessions covering fleet management, automotive procurement and aircraft issues; an exhibit hall featuring a wide array of products, vehicles and services; and opportunities to network and share best practices.

Organizers encourage the following stakeholders to attend FedFleet 2008:

  • Local, state and federal government fleet managers.
  • Local vehicle coordinators and operations and maintenance managers.
  • Private-industry partners interested in federal motor-vehicle programs.
  • Vehicle manufacturers.
  • Alternative-fuel vehicle and infrastructure providers.
  • Management information and automated systems providers.
  • Procurement officials.
  • Personal property, aviation and travel managers.
  • Anyone interested in staying on top of the latest technology and industry developments related to fleet and aviation management.

While the early-registration deadline has passed, attendees still have until June 13 to pre-register. After June 13, all registration will be conducted on site. The event registration fee includes:

  • All conference materials.
  • Entrance into the exhibit hall.
  • Entrance into all plenary sessions and workshop training sessions.
  • Breakfast and lunch all three days of the conference.
  • Afternoon breaks on June 24 and 25.
  • Awards banquet on June 25.

Among the many benefits of attending, the FedFleet executive planning committee is offering complimentary meeting space before and after the conference to agencies that want to hold agency-specific meetings to maximize their travel and training dollars.

Workshop sessions will include: “Measuring Your Fleet’s Performance” (June 24); “Reducing Petroleum Use—Report From the Trenches” (June 24); “Implementing Your Individual Development Plan” (June 24 and 25); “Ethical Fleet Conduct” (June 25); “Federal Automotive Statistical Tool (FAST) Training” (June 25 and 26); and “Best Practices and Emerging Trends in State and Municipal Fleet Management” (June 26).

While there are many serious topics on the educational agenda, some of the scheduled speakers specialize in education with a touch of humor. Keynote speaker and conference emcee David DeBoy’s breakout session, “Soft Innovation: How Ordinary People Come up With Great Ideas” (June 25 and 26), will use a humorous approach to show attendees how to turn their everyday experiences into innovations. And the titles of the other two keynote presentations—“Simon Says … Get a Life” by Simon Bailey and “A Kick in the Attitude” by Sam Glenn (both on June 26)—promise valuable insights, strategies and principles conveyed in a humorous and light-hearted fashion.

The Federal Fleet Policy Council, the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Office of Governmentwide Policy, the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy and GSA fleet are presenting FedFleet 2008.
