Under the agreement, the Air Force will select from Xerox’s line of office printers, copiers and multifunction devices, which print, copy, scan and fax. The equipment boasts a variety of security features to protect confidential information.

The Air Force also will use Xerox devices that use cartridge-free solid ink. These devices are said to deliver enhanced color quality while producing less waste than traditional laser printers.

Goals of the contract are to help the Air Force reduce expenses, consolidate equipment and achieve global standards in its document management operations.

“Winning this eligibility is a highly competitive process, and Xerox is well positioned to meet head-on the Air Force’s cost savings initiative,” said Greg Jones, senior vice president of Public Sector Operations at Xerox.

The contract also covers Xerox supplies and services to meet the Air Force’s document management needs. The company’s global capabilities will oversee equipment orders, delivery requirements, customer support, billing and fleet maintenance.

Last year, Xerox was awarded a U.S. Navy contract worth $93 million for the onboard document needs of 283 vessels. The Navy currently depends on Xerox to provide the installation, custom mounting, training, supplies and dedicated service for nearly 3,000 multifunction and production devices, as well as printer software.
