Law enforcement, fire, corrections and other public safety departments in Anne Arundel County, Md., soon will be using an integrated communications and records management system. The County recently signed a contract, valued at $6.6 million, to acquire the system.
Tiburon Inc., a subsidiary of Annapolis, Md.-based CompuDyne Corp., will install the equipment over a multimonth schedule.
Some of the tasks that the new system can perform in support of the County’s law enforcement and firefighting agencies include:
- Computer-aided dispatch.
- Law enforcement and fire records management.
- Civil papers records management.
- Inmate tracking.
- Mobile communication setup for in-vehicle and field
reporting.
- Institutional management.
- Recordkeeping and tracking of civil process papers.
The system Tiburon is installing in Anne Arundel County includes
an investigative analysis suite that will enable law enforcement
officers to collect, manage, analyze and share intelligence, so
that investigations reach successful conclusions. The suite
includes:
- Tiburon LinkEXPLORER, which is an analysis and visualization
software package that enables investigators to uncover critical
connections and associations.
- Tiburon INDEXER, which is text-extraction software that draws
investigative information from an unlimited number of
documents.
- Tiburon LINKS, which integrates link analysis technology with Tiburon LawRECORDS in an intuitive interface.
“Tiburon's software functionality and experience in successfully delivering enterprisewide solutions to large, diverse agencies was a key factor in selecting Tiburon during this extremely competitive process,” said John Leopold, county executive for Anne Arundel County.
The Anne Arundel County government serves a population of more than 518,000 people spread over 416 square miles along the Chesapeake Bay, surrounding the city of Annapolis and Baltimore Washington International Airport.
