Under the 51-month, cost-plus-award-fee Information Management and Storage (IM&S) system development contract, Northrop Grumman will provide architecture design, systems engineering, system development, integration and test and deployment activities.
IM&S will provide long-term, uniform access to electronic intelligence data collected across the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and intelligence communities. The system will directly support the information-sharing strategy of the Director of National Intelligence and the DOD’s net-centric vision.
Northrop Grumman, a global defense and technology company, was one of two companies to lead technology development efforts before being selected for the IM&S contract.
"IM&S is a revolutionary step in information management. This system will radically change the way analysts perform their jobs, resulting in a significant increase in analyst productivity," said Loren Ryder, Northrop Grumman's IM&S program manager
Northrop Grumman's IM&S team members include BAE Systems, San Diego; IBM, Bethesda, Md.; Sparta Inc., Lake Forest, Calif.; and Sierra Nevada Corp.'s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Div., Sparks, Nev.; as well as several small and disadvantaged businesses.
