Miami-Dade County DPM boasted that it has “transformed the county’s procurement operations by streamlining business processes, implementing technological innovations and encouraging fair and open competition in the acquisition of goods and services.”

“This is a significant honor that recognizes the fine, professional work of our DPM staff, the progressive purchasing policies of our Board of County Commissioners and the support of the mayor and county manager,” Miami-Dade County DPM Director Miriam Singer said. “This award affirms our commitment to continued innovation in the management of the county’s procurement department in accordance with best practices in the purchasing profession.”

Miami-Dade County DPM procures goods and services valued at more than $1.9 billion annually to support countywide operations. The department manages vendor relations for more than 14,000 vendors and manages more than 1,400 active contracts valued at approximately $3 billion.

NPI will recognize this year's recipients of the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement at its 39th Annual National Conference and Exposition, which will be held Sept. 18-21 in Galveston, Texas.
